Grammy-winning gospel singer Tori Kelly was still in the hospital on Monday in an intensive care unit after collapsing the previous evening while out with friends at a Los Angeles restaurant.
The 30-year-old Kelly was receiving treatment for blood clots in her legs and around her lungs, and doctors were trying to figure out if they were also in her heart.
She is in a "really serious" condition, a source told TMZ, which broke the news of the incident. The singer noticed her heart was beating incredibly quickly while out to dinner in downtown Los Angeles, according to TMZ. Shortly after, the source claimed, she "passed out for a while" and has been in and out of consciousness ever since.
Instead of calling an ambulance that would have taken her somewhere else, her friends drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the city's top hospital, the outlet reported.
Kelly received two Grammy Awards in 2019 and the Women in Music Breakthrough Artist Award from Billboard in 2015. The COVID pandemic forced her to end her most recent tour early, and she told People in March that she was eager to resume touring. The last time she had a solo single was about three years ago, when she recently dropped "Missin u."
