According to a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll, President Biden is facing challenges in gaining approval from a skeptical public. Dissatisfaction is increasing specifically in relation to his handling of the economy and immigration. Additionally, there is a growing percentage of people who believe that the United States is providing excessive assistance to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. Furthermore, there are widespread concerns about President Biden's age as he considers running for a second term.

It seems likely that Biden and former president Donald Trump will face off again in a rematch of their 2020 contest. However, a majority of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents express a preference for a different nominee to represent their party in the upcoming election. Biden's advisers have put forth the argument that he is the most formidable Democratic candidate for the 2024 election. However, those who desire an alternative candidate do not have a unified opinion on who that individual should be. A mere 8 percent of respondents mentioned Vice President Harris as their preferred choice, while another 8 percent named Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Furthermore, a significant 20 percent expressed their preference for an unidentified alternative candidate.

According to the Post-ABC poll, Joe Biden is currently behind Donald Trump by a margin of 10 percentage points. However, it is important to note that this survey's findings differ significantly from other public polls, which suggest that the general election race is much closer and could be considered a tie. The observed distinctions between this particular poll and others, along with the atypical composition of the coalitions supporting Trump and Biden in this survey, indicate that it is likely an outlier.

Despite facing multiple criminal charges, Donald Trump is currently in a strong position nationally as he seeks to secure the Republican presidential nomination for a third time. The current data reveals that 54 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents hold a favorable view of him. This percentage has experienced minimal change since May, where it stood at 51 percent. The current governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has experienced a decrease in popularity, with his approval rating dropping from 25 percent in May to 15 percent. Among the Republican candidates, none of them have been able to achieve a double-digit percentage of support. In recent state polls, Trump has emerged as the frontrunner among his GOP rivals. These state polls are considered to be more reliable indicators of the GOP race compared to national polls. This suggests that Trump's lead in the state polls may provide a clearer picture of the upcoming months in the GOP race.

Donald Trump is currently confronted with a total of 91 felony counts across four jurisdictions. Notably, he has been indicted in two separate cases for allegedly trying to overturn the outcomes of the 2020 election. When surveyed, a majority of Americans, specifically 53 percent, believe that the former president is being treated in accordance with the law, just like any other individual would be. On the other hand, 40 percent of respondents feel that he is being unfairly targeted by his political adversaries. According to a recent survey, approximately 75% of Republicans hold the same viewpoint.

The House Republicans have initiated an impeachment inquiry against Biden, even though there is no direct evidence of an impeachable offense committed by the president. According to a recent survey, 58 percent of Americans believe that President Biden is being held accountable under the law in a manner similar to any other president. On the other hand, 32 percent of respondents feel that he is being unfairly targeted by his political opponents.

The current approval rating for President Biden is 37 percent, which is similar to the rating recorded in May. However, it is slightly lower than the rating of 42 percent that was observed in February. According to the Post-ABC poll, a significant majority of Americans, specifically 56 percent, express their disapproval of President Biden. This statistic aligns with the findings of other recent polls that have also indicated a similar level of disapproval towards the President.
