This week, Blaze Media announced that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson would serve as the host of the first Republican presidential forum of the 2024 primary season. However, there was one name conspicuously missing from the list.

The first presidential forum of the 2024 Republican Primary season will be presented by Blaze Media in collaboration with THE FAMiLY LEADER and hosted by Tucker Carlson, according to a statement from the media outlet. On July 14, BlazeTV and the BlazeTV YouTube channel will both broadcast this event live throughout the day.

Numerous current and former elected officials who are running for president will be present at the event on Friday, including Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and former Vice President Mike Pence.

The CEO of The FAMiLY Leader, the group hosting the event, Bob Vander Plaats, an influential evangelical leader in the state of Iowa, tweeted: "I learned last night that @realDonaldTrump will NOT attend our Leadership Summit this Friday."

According to a Trump spokesperson, the former president would be unable to attend due to a "scheduling conflict" with a speech he is scheduled to deliver on Saturday or Sunday at the Turning Point Action conference, which is close to Mar-a-Lago.

The news comes after Trump attacked Kim Reynolds, a well-liked governor of Iowa who may have a significant impact on who wins the state in January, on social media this week.

According to a post by Trump, "I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, and when she fell behind, I ENDORED her, did big Rallies, and she won." She now wants to be 'NEUTRAL,' I don't invite her to events!"

Reynolds was reportedly not invited, according to a Reynolds aide, and chose not to attend Trump's visit to Iowa last Friday. Reynolds hasn't yet endorsed a candidate despite publicly praising DeSantis, Trump's main rival for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.

This week, the New York Times reported that "no politician in Iowa has more clout than Ms. Reynolds, 63, who has presided over her party's expanding state legislative majorities with a near-90 percent approval rating among Republicans."
